What’s the best soil to plant in?I always plant in healthy soil. I recommend Arizona Worm Farm’s soil mix since it’s a complete blend, rich with natural nutrients. They also offer a great mulch for a proper topsoil cover.

How do you grow your produce in the Phoenix desert dirt?It's all about understanding the microclimates in your yard. Microclimates are environmental factors including temperature, light, wind speed and moisture, all things that are necessary for healthy, nutrient dense soil. Coupled with knowing what plants you can grow seasonally in the desert, I can help you grow anything in your Phoenix garden.

My plants aren't growing, what should I do?Not to worry. While there are a lot of reasons why your garden isn't flourishing like you'd hope, I can help. Reach out to me and let's see how we can help your garden grow.

Do you consult with individuals and businesses?Both! If you're a fellow aspiring urban gardener, I'm more than happy to help. Likewise, if you're a business owner, set up a consultation and see how you can get the most from your crop. How do I set up a consultation?It's easy to get started. Send me an email or reach out via my consultation page and let's set up an appointment.

What produce do you offer?Much of what I offer through Little Lighthouse Farm changes based on the season. Some of my year round offerings are: Produce Eggs Seeds Herbs Starts Shop my produce page to see what I'm currently growing and offering from my own garden.

What do you feed your chickens?At Little Lighthouse Farm, our chickens mainly scratch for their food and eat naturally occurring vegetation including grass and bugs. Their meals are supplemented with an organic feed mixture featuring a high amount of protein for optimal egg laying and, in turn, nutritious eggs.

Who can have their own garden?Anyone! Urban farming is something you can do no matter your age or how green your thumb. Through my consulting services, I'll teach you the basics of gardening to get you started and help you succeed at growing your own personal produce.

How long does it take to start my own regenerative and organic garden?My process is tailored to each individual grower and depends on the size and type of your garden. For example, if you prefer an in-ground versus a raised bed, or growing in containers, the timing will differ. Growing food takes time, attention and love. The first step is to set up a consultation today to address your gardening needs.

When can I pick up my produce order?I know you’re going to love your organic and GMO free produce! When you purchase Little Lighthouse Farm eggs, produce, herbs or seeds, you’ll be able to select a window with my pickup hours in your cart. For example, today from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

When is the earliest I can pick up my order?As long as you place an order during my fulfillment hours, you can pick up your order the same day! Little Lighthouse Farm hours are as follows: Monday to Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

How long does it take to prepare my order?I want to ensure you have the most nutritious and healthy produce, eggs, herbs and seeds, so I do my best to prepare orders as soon as they are received.

Can I schedule a pick-up order in advance?Yes, some orders which have a longer shelf life such as seeds, eggs and most of my herbs, which can be scheduled for pick-up 90 days in advance.

Can I schedule delivery orders in advance?Absolutely. I want the ordering process to be as easy as possible for my customers. Orders set for delivery can be scheduled up to 10 days in advance.

If I ordered a delivery, when will my order be delivered?If you placed an order for delivery, I’ll work with you to determine the best time for both you, as the customer, and within my operating hours to make sure you have your produce, eggs, herbs and/or seeds in a timely fashion.
